"Successful Marketing Strategies"

The world is filled with opportunities. Every once in a while, someone comes along that really takes advantage of these opportunities. Someone that makes things work, even though it may seem impossible. Ray Kroc was one of these people.

Ray Kroc is responsible for making McDonalds the most successful fast food operation in the world. He bought it from the original founders Dick and Mac McDonalds, because he felt it had serious potential, and didn’t agree with the brothers’ willingness to accept their chain having only a handful of restaurants. As soon as he was in charge, he started making changes. These changes included marketing strategies that would make McDonalds popular around the United States, and eventually, around the world. Strategies such as using Ronald McDonald to gain recognition, or adopting Henry Ford’s idea of the assembly line, or perhaps his most brilliant idea of all. Standardization. A business tactic that he used to make sure that every Big Mac would taste the same whether a person is in New York or Tokyo.

These marketing strategies, as we all know, led to McDonalds’ Golden arches becoming the most recognized symbol in the world. And because of this, Ray Kroc is undoubtedly an example of a true entrepreneur.

"Cheap Vacations: Good For the Economy?"

I think that the discounts proposed by many of the hotels will work.
Since the economy is so bad many people are looking for cheaper ways to vacation. This is what people will be looking for. People will definitely continue to travel.
I don't think it will hurt the economy to offer these discounts. These discounts are what people need. They keep people traveling and spending money.

"Upstate Restaurateurs Hope To Grab Piece Of Pizza Business"

I think that the owners of the American Pie Factory have many good and promising ideas. I believe they did some pretty good market research to come up witht the stuff they have already.

I think that the fact that it is a family place and a place that will appeal to adults as well, will have a positive effect and increase the American Pie Factory's business .

They can do a lot of promotions thast will attract customers.

I would offer things such as free food or discounts on food. "American Pie Facotry, come enjoy great food, at a great price!"

"Dora Makeover"

I think parents feel that in changing and giving Dora a "makeover", Mattel and Nickelodeon are losing focus on whats really important. The children's education.

I think that this is definitely an attempt to stay with kids that have grown up with Dora.

If my child was used to watching Dora and it was really educating him or her, I would be upset if Mattel and Nickelodeon changed it and made it more about things other than interactive education.

I see this as an example of just another marketing campaign for Mattel and Nickelodeon. I believe that in making these changes they may make more money, but they are no longer focusing on the education of the children.

"Pepsi Vs. Coca-Cola"

In this video we can see just one example of Pepsi and Coca-Cola going at it. Each trying to persuade consumers to buy their product over the others. Sometimes they use humor or sarcasm to get a point across. Sometimes they use statistics to show facts and findings. But no matter what happens, one things is for sure. Neither one stays far behind.

I think that for people who don't have to do things like this, it is definitely overdoing it. My family and I save and make sure we aren't wasteful, but we don't save to this extreme. However, if it ever gets to the point to where we have to, then i don't doubt that we will. I just don't think you should if you don't have to.

If the economy keeps worsening, I don't doubt we will have to save 50% or more of our income each month. As far as saving money, I just keep from buying things that I want but don't need. And if I have money left over I usually save it instead of just spending it.

"Myrtle Beach Hopes Expanded Summer Activities Will Draw More Tourists"

I think that this is a good idea. Even though there is a risk involved, if you don't take a risk you'll end up losing, and I think they are going about it the right way. They are taking factors into consideration, not just taking careless risks.
I think that even though it is a bold move, it is a good idea. Family's are attracted to a variety of things as opposed to what most teens want. With families you can do firework shows, and have a carnival, and other things that's give you different ways to get people to spend their money.
Show them that they can have a good time at a reasonable price. Like the free concerts.
Yes. These are what attract the tourists and get them to spend money.

"Virgin"

I know that Virgin is a very successful company that sells a wide variety of things.
I believe that even though it is a very hard thing to do, it is not impossible to start a business from scratch and turn it into a multi billion dollar company. Virgin is a perfect example. I think that one of the most important things he did was that he did something that would appeal to people. This way you don't need to try to convince or persuade them in your advertising. You just need to give them the information.
I believe that some are born to be entrepreneurs. However, with hard work and determination, a normal person can be an entrepreneur.

"Entrepreneurship"

If I were to start a brand new business from scratch, I would definitely start a fast food place. My target market would be teenagers, generally from the ages of 16 years old to people in their mid twenties, who don't have time to sit down and eat a meal, but are rather busy with other things. I would advertise heavily in the beginning, but after a while I would rely mostly on word of mouth and loyalty. I would provide a fun yet safe atmosphere, to attract teens. I will also sell food at a reasonable price. Many people feel that most of the more popular fast food places, like McDonald's and Burger King, somewhat exaggerate in the pricing of their food. I believe that in providing a fun atmosphere where teens can hang out, and providing good food at a reasonable price, I will own and operate a successful business.
