I think that this new strategy will work for women. As a man, I don't see this affecting my consumption of baked good. If men like it they'll eat it. Men aren't really as inclined a women to seek variety. I believe that Frito-Lay is making the right move. Generally women are the ones who are watching what they eat. For the most part, men don't care as much as women about what they eat. I believe that as long as Frito-Lay doesn't completely forget the male consumers during this new ad campaign, they don't have exactly have to do anything.
However, it would be a good idea to follow through with the current ad campaign and to get to a point to where they no longer have to advertise as much, and can rely mostly on brand loyalty. then, they can start an ad camping to try and reach the male consumers.

"When Interviews Go Wrong"
There were a lot of things i found interesting about this article. It talks about all the small things you normally fail to see, even though they are the determining factors that decide whether your going to get the job or not.
It talks about preparation which i think is the most important part of an interview. Even though the interview is sometimes seen as the most important part of getting a job, many people fail to see that if you don't prepare for the interview, you re more than likely not going to get the job.
As one of my favorite quotes explains, "If you fail to prepare, Prepare to fail".

"Top Jobs For 2009"
The job that grabs my attention the most is definitely Self-Employment & Small Business. This will let me show my creativity and will also let me feel free and independent.
In order to be an entrepreneur, you must be able to deal with a good bit of stress, you must be creative and have good ideas to keep your company going. You must also be able to manage people and have good problem solving skills.

"S.C. Open Jobs, Jobless Often Don’t Match Up"
I think that first of all this is a very sad situation. Just knowing that there are 200,000 jobless people, and only 40,000 spaces to be filled. I agree with the idea that we should definitely try to improve methods of finding jobs for people who really need them. However, i do realize that there are a lot of factors that complicate things, such as the fact that people do not always have the skills needed to preform a specific job.
I think that we should definitely work on coming up with better ways to match people up with jobs they could do. I think that more importantly, we need to make a plan about what we're going to do with all the people that wont get jobs, even after all the spaces are filled.

Commercialism In Classroom: Publisher Defends Non-book Products as Way to Spark Interest In Reading
I think that even though they are "non-book items" it is also very true that it is getting harder and harder to keep kids interests. In today's world children are constantly bombarded with advertisements for clothes, toys, candy, and many other things. And they're taking it all in. So, of course to get a kids attention, your going to have to use something that appeals to them.
I don't see anything unethical about it. They are trying to appeal to kids using what will attract their attention in an attempt to get them to actually sit down and enjoy a book. Something that will help them in the future.
If I we're a parent this would not bother me. I would be glad that they are making an effort to interest my child in something as important and necessary to education as reading.
If I were Scholastic I would see the results these items are having. If they are having a positive result and are getting kids to read, then I would keep doing the same thing in order to appeal to children in an effort to get them to read and better themselves.

"Coffee Competition Warming Up "
I think that it is a good idea for Starbucks to enter the "fast food" fields with McDonald's and Dunkin Donuts. Even though there is a risk involved, it would be better than just sitting around and losing money.
I think that Starbucks has a good chance of being successful, due to the fact that they have a lot of customer recognition.
Of course, they could just lower prices and maybe think of a cheaper way to make their products instead of having to enter a battle with Fast Food companies. Especially companies as well known as McDonald's and Dunkin Donuts.

"Pepsi Mini"

This is an ad for the new Pepsi Mini cans. This ad caught my attention because it is unique and creative. Another huge reason it caught my attention is because it is humorous. I think this is an attempt to get more people to drink soda, rather than the other types of drinks Pepsi and Coca-Cola were advertising for a while.
